Sales of new homes recorded 2.7% increase in September.  The Median price dropped to $218,00 its lowest level in four years.  Over 50% of the sales in our office over the last 30 days where cash transactions.

The next largest segment was Government Backed and First Time buyers with Grant money for down payments.

Here in Lake County Florida a buyer can qualify for $40,000 in gift money towards the purchase of a home.  Additionally, a tax credit may be available up to $7,500. 

These incentives and lower prices are triggering increased interest by first time buyers.

Also, our area is considered RURAL and qualifies for government backed 100% financing for most single family homes.

Here is one example of a great home that would qualify for these program.  It has just been reduced another $25,000 for a quick sale.  Another home down the street is on the market for $700,000, not a bad neighborhood.
